There are a very few brief visits to the world of light and air then like Sisyphus you're taken under again. Once you've been in Nerdrum's limbo, you won't forget it, and that's his power like David Lynch's in film. His ideas on what he views as the clash between kitsch and modern art are something else again, but a truly open mind has to give them some consideration. Look at his works first and see how they effect you is my advice.
